CHAG is
another name for Passover, along with Pesach. Pronounced
the word comes from Chag he-Aviv,
(the Spring Festival) or Chag ha-Matzoth, (the Festival
of Matzahs).
We established the CHAG board because it
takes effort to write a personalized Passover Ritual (or create
any other Intellectual Capital). Once you have written one, the
additional effort to publish and distribute it is quite overwhelming.
And yet, once it has been "distributed" or made available
to others, the reproduction costs are almost free through a digital
format and photocopies.
We thought that the concepts and technology
developed by the software industry (Shareware for publication,
eBooks for distribution, and OpenSource Communities through an
Internet-based bulletin board) might increase the creativity
associated with our favorite holiday.
Your voluntary
membership contribution supports this
website and community.
We will not sell your contact information.
You can keep your email private and use the CHAG Discussion board
to communicate with other CHAG participants.
By becoming a member of CHAG, you agree
to the following terms:
1) All the material uploaded
for sharing remains the intellectual property of the member who
has put the file on the CHAG bulletin board.
2) We ask that on the first or
second page you add the symbol © (the letter C in
a circle or the word "Copyright"), the current year,
and your name or email address (an abbreviation by
which the owner of the file can be recognized). After 1989, this
was sufficient for a copyright.
Example: © 2002 John Doe
Should you have concerns about
copyrights, we suggest you follow this link to the US Copyright
office. http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html
3) Other CHAG members can use
material shared, for non-commercial purposes. This includes making
multiple copies. That CHAG member can resubmit it under their
own name if they modifying the content significantly
4) Modern Haggadah Distribution
Company is the moderator of this board and reserves the right
to delete any content or comments that it deems offensive.
